Surfboard Racks

As a guide to others, trying to decide on the right surfboard is hard enough. Deciding on which surfboard racks are best for you vehicle should be a much simpler process and require a lot less time so we can spend it surfing. I have decided to set up this site in hopes of sharing my knowledge about the best types of surfboard roof racks on the market.

As you may soon discover in your search for the right surfboard roof rack there are two main types. The first is a hard rack. These can either be installed directly on your vehicle or they can be added to a preexisting luggage rack. They can be a bit on the pricey side, but they are ideal for someone who surfs on a daily basis. I personally prefer the soft rack due its versatility. The ability to take it off and on and switch from an array of different vehicles allows for a lifetime of use. Soft racks are so cheap it also makes them ideal for a back up or when using another person's car.

After using an array of different types of racks I think i have found the best soft rack that doesn't put a whole in your pocket. The Block Surf Single is one of the leading surfboard roof racks I have used on the market. Two simple straps through your car, slide in your board and your off. I haven't found a better rack for the price.

It is important to note that when using any type of soft surfboard rack it is imperative, when strapping it down, you use some restraint of wanting to make it too tight. Making it snug is the key, too tight and you risk damaging your board as I have done in the past and can be a pricey mistake.
